On a Lite Note

I was in the house yesterday trying to get a few things done while the boys were outside playing.....

Josiah: Mommy, Mommy come here.

Julia: Yes, Bub what do you need?

Josiah: Will you go get the video camera? Micah and I have the funniest thing ever for you to put on your blog.

Julia: What is it?

Josiah: Go get the camera and I'll show you.

Julia: Mmm? Well, I'll get the camera, but I'm not promising it will be on my blog.

OK, so it wasn't "the funniest thing ever" but it was a bit "thrilling" to watch.
Hope you have a happy day.

Ah, boys! The daring and excitement! So refreshing. BTW, the 'where's your mommy' idea won't work, because as soon as anyone looks at or talks to her, she points at me, like "I'm hers." Oh, well. Nice try, though!

Too cute, Julia! Almost as amusing as the antic itself is the desire of a 5 yr old to be displayed on a "blog"....a word that I don't think even existed when he was born! :) Too funny!

Charity: not to mention that she's a little hard for you to deny....she may look like her Daddy to those of us who know him, but for the average stranger, she's her Mommy's girl for sure! :O) Looks like you're stuck with her!!

That was so cute! I love his little introduction: "This is the funniest thing ever"
Our boys have a little hill to do the same thing into our back yard. The bad thing is that Ryan tries to do it with a tricycle and the tricycle is top heavy. So... he has had some nasty crashes in the process. And it makes me nervous! I bet they have a lot of fun in the winter too. Looks like a nice place to use a snow-saucer thingy

Charity;
Maybe Duct tape or perhaps a bag for Mommy's head?

Tara:
Tell me about it. I know Kimberly is worried about this. If photos are bad, how bad is a video on the web? :)

Kim;
I tend to be preventionist Mom. However, I'm starting to weigh "adventures" by how much potential there is of causing major damage. I try to control my desire to stop all things dangerous, or in boy language "fun".

This is a learning process for all of us moms with boys. You sometimes have to peek through your fingers, clench your teeth, and pray! The wrestling in the living room (we have a fireplace) has just about made me ulcerated! I have been known to remove all furniture and fold blankets into thirds and lay them along the concrete edges.

You are a brave mommy!! Phillip says I am overprotective of Katy. I would have been chasing her down the hill praying!! I guess I will have to lighten up with this new little boy coming!! Very thrilling video indeed!

Too exciting!! Who wouldn't want to fly down that lovely slope and then share the achievement w/the world!:) wouldn't it be geat if as adults we kept this sense of wonder and honestly/innocently wanting to share w/our friends...(wait a min. maybe that's part of what we do in blogging?)

btw, I think he'll develop just fine unless this sense of exhibitionism (Sp?) becomes a pattern...hehe:) and I'm sue mom will be right on top of it!:)

It may not have been the "funniest thing ever" but it was pretty good! Thanks for sharing.

By the way, really enjoyed your previous post. Let me just say that my view of all of that has morphed a bit in the last several years due to personal experience. Somehow I was a bit too much of an eternal optimist before getting hit head on with life. While I'm still optimistic in general, I think I have a clearer view of God's purposes for us. (Which does not necessarily include our happiness!) I think you're right on the money.

What fun. Caiden (almost 2 yrs) is getting a major kick out of this. We're watching it over and over.

Julia, you probably don't remember me (we met once a long time ago), but I'm good friends with Jo. Your boys are too cute and I've enjoyed watching your family. =)

How adorable! I knew it was going to be great after an introduction like that.
My "Mommy, Mommy, come look" stage here lately has involved a bike wreck - it's not even officially summer & we have more bruises, scrapes, scabs & possible internal bleeding than I can doctor!
I need to just go ahead and buy stock in the Band-Aid & Neosporin companies.

Hi Julia! That is so cute! Little boys can be so creative....and daring! I've been looking at lots of blogs and Shelli had told me about yours. I've looked at Laura's too. They are so cool! I just created one for the Clinic. Take a look and see what you think..I've got a lot to learn yet! I'm hoping it will be a good link for our supporters to stay in touch. It's pregnancycc.blogspot.com Thanks and God bless! nancy

Hey Ladies,

So glad to hear from all of you. It's also good to know I'm not alone or in need of the DCFS for letting my boys roll headlong into trees. :)

Kelli;
I do remember you. Thanks for coming by my blog. I enjoyed linking to yours from your comment. Loved the video of your "little drummer girl" too.

Julia,
My kids loved it.
Joey and Jessi were discussing if they were going to crash and get hurt, and Jessi decided that they were going to be ok, cause they were cowboys.
